Dr. Irvin Khoza Shares Emotional Message as Mandla Ncikazi Leaves Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has paid tribute to Mandla Ncikazi after the coach’s departure from the Soweto club. Khoza thanked him for his contribution and wished him well in the next stage of his career.

Ncikazi’s exit brings to an end a long spell at the Buccaneers, where he worked as part of the technical team and helped the club stay competitive in South African football. Khoza, a respected figure in the local game, said the club respects Ncikazi’s decision to take up a new opportunity.

In a message that showed the club’s appreciation, the chairman made it clear that Ncikazi leaves on good terms. “Mandla leaves with our gratitude and our blessing. His contribution to Orlando Pirates has been evident throughout his time with us,” Khoza said. “We respect his wish to pursue this new opportunity and wish him success as he takes on a new responsibility.”

Ncikazi joined the Pirates technical setup at a time when the club was working to strengthen its position among the top teams in the country. His work formed part of the wider effort to keep standards high and to compete for honours in both domestic and continental competitions.

His departure is likely to draw attention from supporters, given the expectations around Pirates and the value of stability in the technical team. Khoza’s words, however, suggest that the relationship between the club and the coach remains respectful. The chairman chose to focus on thanks and did not speak about the circumstances of the separation. The statement also does not say what the new opportunity is or where Ncikazi is going.

For Ncikazi, the move offers a chance to continue his coaching career in a new setting, and his time at one of the country’s biggest clubs should serve him well. Pirates, meanwhile, will turn their attention to the matches ahead as they continue to chase their goals this season.
