Mussad Dankwah Sends A Strong Warning To Paul Adom-Otchere
Media personality Mussa Dankwah has criticised broadcaster Paul Adom-Otchere for publicly mentioning individuals who assisted him in securing bail following his release from the custody of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Adom-Otchere reportedly faces charges connected to a contract linked to his tenure at the Ghana Airports Company. After his release, the broadcaster appeared on his programme and expressed gratitude to people who had supported him during the legal process.
However, Dankwah questioned the decision to identify those individuals publicly. In a Facebook post, he argued that their identities should have remained confidential to protect their privacy and avoid discouraging others from offering assistance in similar circumstances.
According to Dankwah, making the names public could create unnecessary concerns for people who might otherwise be willing to help someone facing legal difficulties. He suggested that potential supporters could become reluctant to assist if they feared their involvement would later be disclosed.
The media personality also used humour to emphasise his point, suggesting that people might now insist on anonymity before extending support to anyone seeking bail.
Dankwah maintained that Adom-Otchere could have expressed his appreciation without identifying the individuals involved. He believed a general acknowledgement would have conveyed sufficient gratitude while respecting the privacy of those who offered assistance.
The comments have attracted attention on social media, where the issue has prompted discussions about confidentiality, public accountability and the appropriate way to acknowledge support during legal proceedings.
The debate follows Adom-Otchere’s release from OSP custody and comes as public interest in his case continues. Dankwah’s criticism has raised questions about whether publicly naming people who assist individuals facing legal challenges could have unintended consequences for those willing to provide support in the future.
