Tinubu Has Borrowed So Much, We Used 7.7T To Service Our Debt When Our Revenue Was 6.2T- Okonkwo

In a video shared by Symfoni, ADC Chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo spoke about Nigeria’s debt servicing obligations under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, highlighting the amount spent on servicing the country’s debt compared with the revenue generated in the first half of the year.

Okonkwo explained that the amount spent on debt servicing exceeded the revenue generated during the period, drawing attention to the difference between the country’s earnings and its financial obligations, as he discussed the figures and their implications for government finances.

The ADC Chieftain stated that Nigeria spent ₦7.7 trillion on debt servicing in the first half of the year, while its revenue stood at ₦6.2 trillion, noting that the government would need additional funds to meet its debt obligations under Tinubu’s administration.

In Okonkwo’s words: “Tinubu has borrowed so much that, in the first half of this year, we used ₦7.7 trillion to service our debt. When our revenue was ₦6.2 trillion, that meant we had to borrow even more to service our debt.”
