Married Woman Begs Husband After Confessing Two Children Are Not His
A woman identified as Abena Ampomaa, from Adumang in the Ashanti Region, has appealed to her husband, Shaibu Mohammed, popularly known as Chief, for forgiveness after admitting that two of the three children he has raised during their 14-year marriage are allegedly not biologically his.
Abena disclosed that she had relationships with two other men during the marriage, resulting in the birth of two children.
She explained that one pregnancy occurred before her marriage to Chief, although she only became aware of it after they had married.
She further claimed that persistent disagreements and financial difficulties in the marriage led her to seek financial assistance from another man.
According to her, that relationship eventually resulted in another pregnancy.
The issue became public when Abena appeared on Oyerepa Afutuo, a marital and domestic dispute programme on Oyerepa TV, on October 20, 2026, to seek forgiveness from her husband.
During the programme, she explained that she had kept the children’s paternity a secret for years because she was afraid of her husband’s reaction.
However, she eventually decided to disclose the truth, prompting Chief to question why she had not informed him earlier.
“I couldn’t keep it anymore, so despite my fear, I decided to tell him. When I finally confessed, he said he had heard me. He then asked why I hadn’t told him earlier and I explained that I was afraid,” she recounted.
Abena revealed that the two children whose paternity is being disputed are currently 14 and 11 years old.
She alleged that following her confession, her husband threatened to prevent her from receiving financial assistance from anyone, including the children’s biological fathers.
She also claimed that he threatened her father, whom she said died approximately two weeks before her appearance on the programme.
Overwhelmed by the situation, Abena expressed remorse over her actions and appealed to Chief to forgive her, acknowledging the hurt her confession had caused.
She further alleged that her husband had threatened to stop providing for the children, arguing that he had already spent several years raising them.
According to her account, he intended to make her bear the financial responsibility of caring for them while also preventing other men from offering assistance.
The controversy escalated when Chief was contacted by the programme during a telephone conversation.
He expressed anger over the revelations and alleged that his late father-in-law, identified as Mr Nyame, an SDA church leader, had known about the children’s disputed paternity but failed to inform him.
Chief also accused his father-in-law of changing the name he had chosen for one of the children without his consent.
He further alleged that Abena’s parents had secretly received money from the children’s biological fathers while their daughter continued living with him.
During the call, Chief made disturbing claims linking himself to his father-in-law’s death.
He also issued threats against members of Abena’s family and warned of further deaths if the dispute remained unresolved.
These allegations and threats were made during the programme and have not been independently verified.
Chief maintained that he had been deeply hurt by the revelations after spending years raising the three children without certainty about their biological paternity.
He demanded DNA tests for all three children to establish their biological fathers, insisting that the results would determine the next steps in resolving the dispute.
He also said he intended to calculate the expenses he had incurred in raising the children and seek compensation before considering reconciliation with his wife.
