APC Secretary Reacts As Sowore Says When UNILORIN Expelled Him In 1992, He Received Him In UNILAG

The National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru has reacted to the statement that Nigerian activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore made about him.

The statement of the APC National Secretary was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

This is coming after Omoyele Sowore stated that he received Basiru when he was admitted into the University of Lagos.

“Ajibola came to the University of Lagos after he was expelled from the University of Ilorin in 1992 for student activism. I received him alongside Kunle Adegoke who is now a Senior Advocate of Nigeria”.

However, Basiru has now shared his thoughts after the post surfaced online. In a statement that he shared on his official X handle, he described Omoyele Sowore as a dishonest person. He said he didn’t have any relationship with the AAC presidential candidate before he was admitted into the University of Lagos.

Here is what Ajibola Basiru wrote on his official X handle;

“I was admitted on merit. It is outright falsehood to say you or anyone provided me with any enabling environment to get admission into the University of Lagos”.
