Fantana angry, prepare to sue NPP communicator who said she has affair with Ablakwa
According to report by Ghbase on Thursday 22, 2026, Ghanaian musician Fantana has threatened to take legal action against New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Communication Team member Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah following allegations linking her to funds allegedly misappropriated by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The musician’s reaction comes after Gyewu-Appiah made the claims during a discussion on Onua FM, where he alleged that Ablakwa had diverted money intended to support the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa and allegedly spent the funds on Fantana.
During the radio discussion, Gyewu-Appiah claimed that the minister had channelled the money to the musician, whom he described as Ablakwa’s romantic partner. However, the allegations were not accompanied by independently verified evidence in the information available.
“What pains me is that he has given all the money he took to Fantana. Do you know his girl is Fantana? He has taken all the stolen money to Fantana,” Gyewu-Appiah alleged during the programme.
He further accused Ablakwa of wrongdoing and suggested that the minister and his wife should face imprisonment over the alleged actions. He also described the minister as a “serious thief” while making his accusations.
Fantana has strongly rejected the claims and indicated her intention to pursue legal action against the NPP communicator. She expressed anger over what she considers false statements about her, particularly because the allegations were made on a national media platform.
In a strongly worded response, the musician announced that she intended to sue Gyewu-Appiah for allegedly spreading false information about her.
“I’m going to sue you for lying on me!!!!! A bunch of old useless fools sitting on the radio spreading lies! God punish you, useless men!” she stated.
Her response has drawn attention to the growing controversy surrounding the allegations and the potential legal consequences of making damaging claims about public figures and celebrities.
The matter could develop further if Fantana proceeds with legal action. However, as of the time of reporting, no court action or formal legal filing has been confirmed in the information available.
The allegations against Ablakwa and Fantana remain claims made by Gyewu-Appiah and should not be treated as established facts without supporting evidence. Any legal proceedings or official findings would be necessary to clarify the issues raised and determine whether the allegations have merit.
