The BBC Asked Peter Obi, Do you have proof? and He Said, The Proofs I had, I Took To Court”Nwaokobia
According to a video posted on Symfoni on Tuesday October 19, 2026, Nwaokobia described an exchange between Peter Obi and a BBC interviewer. He said she asked Obi whether he won the election and whether he had proof. He said Obi answered that the proofs he had were taken to court.
Nwaokobia spoke on Symfoni TV with Victor. He said he watched the recent interview and was struck by how simple the questions were. He said many Obi supporters were certain Obi won in 2023.
In his words, Nwaokobia said, “The lady with the BBC asked him a simple question, ‘Did you win the election?’ He said, ‘Yes, I won.’ ‘Do you have proof?’ The simple answer was ‘The proofs that I had, I took to court.’ ‘That the court threw away does not mean that I do not have proof,’” he said.
Nwaokobia said he reads the answer differently from Obi’s supporters. According to him, Obi said before the world that he did not have proof. He added that this is the reason he cannot back him.
He said he is not looking for a candidate who is unclear on issues. According to Nwaokobia, he would be unfair to posterity if he campaigned for such a person. He said he wants a candidate who is definite.
Nwaokobia said he also spoke to a friend among Obi’s supporters who watched the interview. The friend said, “Now I see.” Nwaokobia replied that the campaign had only begun and the questions would go deeper.
