Lagos’ famous Detty December celebrations will get an exciting new addition as the maiden edition of Last Woman Standing Naija is set to hold on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at JJT Park, Alausa, Ikeja.
Organised by Kandaval Communication, the event is expected to bring together 1,000 women for a series of entertaining games designed to test their stamina, focus, determination and competitive spirit.
Positioned as a curtain-raiser for the month-long festive celebrations, the organisers said the event aims to promote female empowerment, camaraderie and healthy competition through fun activities rather than conventional, intensive fitness exercises.
Participants will battle through a series of fast-paced games, including 10-10, sack race, jump rope and hula hoop challenges, among other activities.
The contestant who outlasts all other competitors will emerge as the first-ever Last Woman Standing Naija champion and receive the N1m grand prize.
The organisers also announced more than N1.5m in cash prizes for runners-up, alongside over N1m in consolation prizes, while more than 140 women are expected to benefit from the various prize categories, extending the rewards beyond the overall winner.
Beyond the competition, spectators will also have opportunities to win prizes, including free flight tickets and other exciting giveaways.
The initiative is designed to make the event rewarding for both participants and audience members, creating an engaging atmosphere for families, friends and other supporters during the festive season.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Tony Obot, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kandaval Communication, said the event was created to offer a different experience from the concerts, parties and nightlife commonly associated with Lagos in December.
“Lagos in December is packed with concerts, raves, and parties, but we wanted to create something truly impactful, unforgettable, and empowering specifically for women,” Obot said.
He described Last Woman Standing Naija as a high-energy celebration of sisterhood, stamina and willpower, adding that the organisers deliberately chose familiar childhood games to make the competition entertaining and relatable.
According to him, the event will provide a platform for women to demonstrate their determination and competitive abilities while enjoying the excitement of the festive season.
Obot also highlighted the initiative’s reward structure, noting that the organisers wanted both contestants and spectators to benefit from attending.
“By providing a platform where over 140 women walk away with substantial reward, and offering flight tickets and prizes to our audience members, we are making a statement about celebrating and rewarding everyone who shows up to support,” he said.
He encouraged women who believe they have the stamina, focus and determination to compete to register for the event.
Registration for Last Woman Standing Naija is free, but participation is limited to the first 1,000 women who register, organisers stated, while urging prospective participants and supporters to follow Last Woman Standing Naija on social media for further updates.
