One dead, six trapped in Meru quarry collapse

One person has died, and six others are feared trapped after a stone quarry collapsed at Mutonga in Igoji, Meru County, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.The workers were at the quarry when the section they were working in suddenly caved in, burying them under tonnes of soil and rock.
