Jealousy Turns Bloody – 19-Year-Old Lady Kills 33-Year-Old Boyfriend At Ofankor Barrier
A simple disagreement between two lovers has ended in blood and tears at Ofankor Barrier in Accra.
A 19-year-old girl, Emmanuella Asante, is in the grips of the police for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, 33-year-old Enoch Abrokwa, to death.
The sad incident happened at Ofankor Barrier, a busy suburb in the Greater Accra Region. What started as a heated argument between the couple quickly turned violent.
According to preliminary police reports, Emmanuella and Enoch had a misunderstanding in their home. In the heat of the moment, Emmanuella allegedly picked up a sharp object believed to be a knife and stabbed Enoch.
Neighbours who heard the shouting rushed to the scene, only to find Enoch in a pool of blood with a deep stab wound. He was bleeding badly and struggling to breathe. Some residents tried to help and rushed him to a nearby health facility, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The matter was immediately reported to the Ofankor Police, who moved swiftly to the scene. Emmanuella was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
Police sources say the suspect admitted to having a quarrel with her boyfriend but is still assisting with investigations to establish what really triggered the fatal attack.
Enochβs body has since been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy as investigations continue.
Emmanuella was later put before the court. The court has remanded her into police custody to allow the police to continue with their investigations. She is expected to reappear in court on November 3, 2026.
The death of Enoch has thrown the entire Ofankor Barrier community into a state of shock and mourning. Many residents who knew the couple say they were surprised by the incident, describing their relationship as one that looked normal from the outside.
Meanwhile, the police have cautioned young people in relationships to learn to control their tempers and seek peaceful ways to resolve disagreements instead of resorting to violence.
They also advised couples to seek counseling or involve family members when issues arise, rather than taking the law into their own hands.
