Ask Your Own Leaders About The Money — Franklin Cudjoe Slams NPP Youth Over Yegyeyɛ Sika Protest
IMANI Africa President Franklin Cudjoe has launched a scathing critique against the youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over their planned demonstration, dubbed “Yegyeyɛ Sika,” organized to protest alleged government corruption and unfulfilled promises.
Reacting to news of the protest on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the policy analyst dismissed the youth wing’s planned action as “rubbish.” Cudjoe asserted that the Ghanaian public is fully aware of those responsible for mismanaging national funds, noting that several individuals are already facing court trials, with more expected to follow. He further alleged that the main architects behind the financial mismanagement have fled from accountability.
Directing his frustration at the organizers, Cudjoe advised the NPP youth wing to hold their own party leadership accountable before targeting others. He urged them to demand answers from NPP leaders regarding the missing funds, stating that such questions should have been raised long ago. He concluded his post with his signature sign-off phrase, “KOKLO.”
Cudjoe’s blunt remarks have ignited intense online debate, drawing mixed reactions across social media. While several commentators echoed his sentiments regarding political accountability, others defended the constitutional right of the party’s youth wing to organize public protests.
As founding president of the Accra-based think tank IMANI Africa, Cudjoe routinely offers commentary on national governance, economic management, and anti-corruption efforts. The NPP youth wing has not issued a formal response to Cudjoe’s statements, and further details regarding the scheduled date and logistics of the “Yegyeyɛ Sika” demonstration remain pending.
