Davido Pays Tribute to Late Son Ifeanyi on What Would Have Been His 7th Birthday

Afrobeats star Davido has paid tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, on what would have been the child’s seventh birthday, expressing his love for him in a social media post.

Ifeanyi was born on October 20, 2019, to Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke. He would have turned seven on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

In his tribute, the singer said he and Chioma continued to miss their son. “Happy birthday son …. Me and mommy miss and love you! Keep flying high,” he wrote.

Ifeanyi died on October 31, 2022, aged three, after drowning in a swimming pool.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the cause of death following an autopsy, with police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin telling PUNCH at the time that the examination confirmed the child had drowned. His death prompted an outpouring of grief and condolences from fans, fellow entertainers and public figures.
