Adamawa first lady Lami Fintiri Empowers 500 Youths With Digital, Vocational Skills
The First Lady of Adamawa State, Her Excellency, Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, has flagged off a one-week statewide skills acquisition training programme for over 500 youths drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state. The programme, aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic empowerment, is targeting digital skills, artificial intelligence, fashion design, tie-and-dye, bead-making and entrepreneurship.
Organised in collaboration with the Adamawa State Ministry of Local Government Affairs and the Office of the Wife of the Governor, the training is holding at the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Centre of Adamawa State Polytechnic, along Gibson Jalo Army Barracks Road, beyond Eagles Park Guest Inn. According to the organisers, participants will receive hands-on training in computer skills and artificial intelligence (AI), tailoring and fashion design, tie-and-dye, fabric painting, bead-making and other creative crafts. The initiative is designed to equip young people with practical skills to establish small businesses, explore employment opportunities and generate sustainable income. Beyond technical knowledge, the programme also seeks to encourage creativity, innovation and enterprise among youths by combining digital skills with vocational training to suit different interests and markets. The participation of youths from all 21 LGAs gives the initiative a statewide reach, providing young people from different communities the opportunity to access practical learning and pathways towards financial independence. The collaboration between the Office of the Wife of the Governor and the Ministry of Local Government Affairs underscores the importance of partnership in expanding opportunities for youth development and bridging the gap between learning and livelihood. As the training progresses, the focus remains on equipping participants with useful knowledge and practical experience that can be applied beyond the training centre to become self-reliant and contribute to the economic development of Adamawa State. 📰 Get Latest News Updates Join our Telegram group and receive breaking and trending news updates directly on your phone.
