Tinubu Is The Only President Who People Didn’t Give Billions Because He Had His Own Money–Baba-Ahmed

According to a report by Daily Post on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has accused President Bola Tinubu of using his personal wealth to secure victory in the 2023 presidential election.

Baba-Ahmed alleged that Tinubu financed his presidential campaign independently, claiming that Nigerians did not contribute financially to his ambition to become president.

He made the allegations on Tuesday while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he also criticised the president for allegedly failing to understand Nigeria’s problems before assuming office.

According to the PRP chairman, Tinubu should have taken time to understand the circumstances that brought the country to its current state and the underlying issues affecting its development.

Baba-Ahmed acknowledged that Tinubu might not have had sufficient time to study the country before his inauguration on May 29, 2023.

However, he maintained that the president should have demonstrated a better understanding of Nigeria’s challenges and the factors responsible for them.

He said, “He should have understood how the country reached this point. I can understand that he was sworn in on May 29 and didn’t have enough time to study the situation.”

The PRP leader further alleged that Tinubu relied on his personal financial resources to win the election, suggesting that his campaign did not depend on substantial financial contributions from Nigerians or wealthy supporters.

He said, “He single-handedly bought his way into power. He could quite possibly be the only president who campaigned for and paid for his campaign to become president.

“Maybe that was why he said, ‘Emi Lokan.’ Tinubu is the only president who people didn’t give billions because he had his own money.

Baba-Ahmed’s comments formed part of his broader criticism of the Tinubu administration, which he accused of failing to adequately address the country’s difficulties despite spending more than three years in office.

The PRP chairman’s remarks also questioned the circumstances surrounding Tinubu’s emergence as president, particularly his alleged reliance on personal wealth during the 2023 election campaign.
