Nii Lantey Vanderpuye: NDC can invest in its own people and finance activities; why borrow from people

National Chairman hopeful of the ruling National Democratic Congress ( NDC) Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, believes the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will invest in its members and create millionaires to make the party financially self-sustaining.

He encouraged the party to develop systems that empower its members economically rather than continuously relying on individuals for financial support to fund its activities.

Speaking on Ghanakoma morning show on Akoma 87.9FM in Kumasi with Sir John on Tuesday, October 20,2026, he said , the party must build its own financial strength.

“The NDC as an organisation can invest in its own people and create millionaires out of the party,” he stated.

He questioned why the NDC should depend on wealthy individuals to finance activities such as party registration and the training of election agents.

“Why should the party go round with a cup in hand to borrow money from people in order to undertake registration or train agents? The party should be able to raise its own meaningful resources to undertake its own programmes,” he said.

He pointed out that, his vision is to build a party where members are not only beneficiaries of the organisation but are also empowered to contribute to its growth.

He told Sir John that he is a foundation member of the NDC.

“My journey with NDC goes back its foundation. I have remained loyal, committed and dedicated to our party. The NDC has given me the opportunity to serve , and I remain ready to give back .

He promised to establish a welfare desk for the former MPs MMDCEs.
