Wike Coming To Reconcile With Fubara is very Bad, You Don’t Want Me To Go For Second Termβ Ezeribe
A Port Harcourt resident, Monday Ezeribe, has questioned the sincerity of the reconciliation between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, Ezeribe expressed his concerns following a recent meeting between the two political leaders at Fubara’s private residence. Wike attended the meeting with members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Martin Amaewhule, and other political allies.
Reacting to the development, Ezeribe said he did not understand why Wike was seeking reconciliation with Fubara after their political disagreement and the challenges that affected the governor’s time in office.
He argued that the renewed peace efforts were questionable because, according to him, Fubara had been removed from office for almost six months and Wike had opposed his plan to seek a second term.
Ezeribe described the reconciliation as evil, suggesting that the circumstances surrounding the political dispute made it difficult for him to see the peace moves as genuine.
He also said that if he were in Fubara’s position, he would stand by his own decisions, even if Wike and his supporters continued to visit him until election day.
In his words, “Wike coming to reconcile with the sitting governor, it’s very bad. You removed me from my office for almost 6 months, and you don’t want me to go to the second tenure, calling people to come and reconcile, which type od reconciliation? It’s an evil reconciliation. It’s not proper.”
