Kumawood actor Oteele has revealed that he gave his wife, Gifty Nana Afriyie, a Toyota RAV4 as compensation following the circulation of a leaked intimate video involving him and another woman.

Speaking in an interview with media personality Nayaas, the actor recounted how the incident strained his marriage, prompting his wife to leave their matrimonial home and consider ending their relationship.

Oteele explained that he subsequently sought the assistance of respected elderly people to intervene and persuade his wife to reconsider her decision.

According to him, their intervention, coupled with his wife’s reflection on the years they had spent together, eventually led to reconciliation.

He said his wife acknowledged the difficulties they had overcome as a couple and ultimately decided to forgive him, despite the disappointment caused by the incident.

The actor disclosed that he owned two vehicles at the time — a Toyota Voxy and a 2014 Toyota RAV4. Following their reconciliation, he decided to give his wife the RAV4 as a gesture of compensation.

Oteele’s revelation comes amid comments by his wife about the emotional toll the controversy took on her and the circumstances surrounding her decision to forgive him.

Gifty Afriyie said the incident was particularly painful because of the hardships they had endured together throughout their marriage.

She recalled periods when the couple struggled to find accommodation, explaining that they had sometimes slept outdoors and depended on friends for a place to stay.

According to her, their shared experiences made her husband’s actions even more difficult to accept, considering the sacrifices they had made to build their relationship.

Despite the hurt and disappointment, Gifty said she eventually chose to forgive her husband and continue with their marriage.

However, she suggested that her response might have been different if Oteele had shown no remorse for his actions.

She remarked that had he continued living with her without expressing regret, her anger could have escalated to the point where she might have considered poisoning him.
