RMA vs RBL: How Real Madrid Could Line Up For Their UCL Match Against RB Leipzig

According to a report by Sky Sports on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Real Madrid will face RB Leipzig in an upcoming UEFA Champions League match as Jose Mourinho aims to guide his team to an important victory. The Spanish giants will be looking to build on their convincing 4-1 win over Sevilla and collect the three points needed to improve their position on the Champions League table. Mourinho is expected to select a strong starting lineup for Wednesday’s encounter.

Defenders: Marc Cucurella, Huijsen, Konate, Valverde

Thibaut Courtois is expected to start in goal against Leipzig, while Marc Cucurella could occupy the left-back position and Federico Valverde may feature on the right side of the defence. In central defence, Dean Huijsen and Ibrahima Konate are likely to work together as Real Madrid look to prevent the German side from creating clear chances in the final third.

In midfield, Aurelien Tchouameni could partner Jude Bellingham, with the two players expected to help Madrid win possession and control the game. Tchouameni’s defensive strength should provide cover for the backline, while Bellingham will be expected to move forward and support the attacking players whenever an opportunity arises.

On the wings, Diomande and Endrick could be given the chance to trouble Leipzig’s defenders with their pace and direct approach. Arda Guler is expected to operate behind the striker, where his passing and creativity could help Madrid open up the visitors’ defence and create scoring opportunities.

Kylian Mbappe, who performed well in the team’s recent victory against Sevilla, is likely to lead the attacking line on Wednesday.
