NPP To Expose 35 Alleged NDC Scandals Ahead Of 2028 Elections — Sammi Awuku

Akuapem North Member of Parliament and senior opposition figure Sammi Awuku, Esq., has declared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to roll out details on 35 alleged scandals involving the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the lead-up to the 2028 general elections.

Speaking during an appearance on UTV Ghana amid ongoing national debates surrounding the South Africa evacuation controversy, Awuku charged that the current administration must be held accountable for its fiscal and operational decisions.

Challenging government transparency, the former National Lottery Authority (NLA) Chief Executive demanded the full publication of operational invoices and expenditure breakdowns related to the recent evacuation of Ghanaian nationals from South Africa, drawing parallels to past transparency demands regarding presidential and official state travel.

Awuku asserted that the South Africa evacuation costs represent only a fraction of broader governance oversights by the ruling party. He noted that the opposition leadership has carefully documented 35 distinct instances of administrative failures, procurement inconsistencies, and financial mismanagements allegedly committed by the NDC government. According to Awuku, these findings will be systematically exposed to the Ghanaian public prior to the 2028 polls to highlight contrast in institutional stewardship.

The NPP politician maintained that public accountability must remain paramount regardless of which political party holds power. He urged citizens to scrutinize official state spending closely as political parties prepare to present their records and policy alternatives in subsequent electoral cycles.
