Fashion Star’s Husband Locked Up — Court Remands Harold Norman For 2 Weeks Over Abuse Case

The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) court has remanded Harold Duodu Norman, the husband of Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo for two weeks over alleged domestic abuse.

The decision was taken during their court session on Tuesday, October 20, as the case continues to attract huge public attention.

The case has now been adjourned to November 3, 2026 for further hearing.

Harold Norman is facing allegations of physical, emotional and economic abuse after his wife, Nana Akua Addo, petitioned the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on August 20, 2026.

Police said a similar case involving the couple was already handled by DOVVSU at the Lakeside and Ministries stations in July 2026, before the latest petition.

According to the police, Harold was initially arrested after videos of the alleged abuse went viral on X, Facebook and Instagram. He was expected to appear in court on October 7, but failed to show up after his lawyers said he had been hospitalised. DOVVSU officers later visited the hospital to verify his admission.

Harold Norman has denied assaulting his wife. Through his lawyers, BA Law Consult, he claims the injury seen in the viral videos dates back to 2021 and is already the subject of both a criminal investigation by DOVVSU and a civil case — Rosemond Akua Adobea vrs Harold Duodu Norman, suit number DM/0607/2026.

His legal team also described the circulation of the videos as an attempt to sway public opinion.

Nana Akua Addo, who appeared at the DOVVSU court, has appealed to the public to take down videos involving her children, as police say they are working with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to support her and the kids.

For now, the court has said Harold Norman will remain in custody for two weeks while investigations continue.
