“Game Ni 90, Hakuna Extra Time” – Natembeya Signals Determination as WANTAM Gains Momentum
Political leaders have sparked fresh conversations after sharing photographs with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by statements suggesting determination among politicians associated with the opposition’s political agenda.
Pauline Njoroge, Natembeya Mashinani and former EALA legislator Kanini Kega have drawn attention through their social media posts, with their remarks highlighting the growing political significance of the WANTAM slogan ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In one of the posts, Pauline Njoroge shared a photograph of herself alongside Gachagua and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya. She accompanied the image with the brief Swahili expression, “Mbele kuzuri!” which translates to “The future looks promising!”
Her message appeared optimistic, suggesting confidence in the political direction represented by the leaders pictured together. However, she did not provide further details explaining the specific plans or political arrangements behind the photograph.
Meanwhile, Natembeya Mashinani shared another photograph featuring Gachagua and a man identified in the image as part of the political gathering. The accompanying message read, “Game ni 90! Hakuna extra time!” loosely translated as “The game lasts 90 minutes! There is no extra time.”
The football-inspired expression conveys a sense of urgency and determination. In a political context, it can be interpreted as a reminder that the contest has a defined timeline and that those seeking electoral victory must prepare accordingly.
Kanini Kega also weighed in on the conversation, declaring, “Baas! Game shot! WANTAM IS INNEVITABLE. Munatuona vivuuri!” His statement expressed confidence in the WANTAM campaign while challenging those who may be underestimating its political influence.
WANTAM has become a prominent slogan in Kenya’s political discussions, particularly among leaders and supporters advocating a change in the country’s political leadership.
The posts come at a time when political alliances, campaign strategies and possible coalitions are attracting attention as the country moves towards the next general election. Nevertheless, the photographs and statements alone do not establish the existence of a formal political coalition or confirm specific electoral agreements among the individuals involved.
The leaders’ messages have nevertheless added to the debate about the direction of Kenya’s opposition politics and the role political personalities may play in shaping future alliances.
