Full List of Western Leaders Who Visited to Gachagua at Wamunyoro

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, led a group of opposition politicians to the residence of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in Wamunyoro, Mathira, Nyeri County, amid growing discussions about political alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The delegation brought together leaders from Nairobi and Western Kenya who have been linked to the Linda Mwananchi movement. Their visit attracted attention as opposition figures continued engaging in consultations on the country’s political future.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya was among those who accompanied Sifuna. Natembeya has increasingly featured in national political debates and has called for changes in Kenya’s leadership.

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi was also reported to have attended the meeting. Osotsi has been involved in discussions surrounding ODM and the direction the opposition should take as it prepares for the next general election.

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka joined the delegation, adding to the representation of Western Kenya leaders at the gathering.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was another notable figure present. Owino has been associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, which has continued attracting public interest through its political engagements and discussions about leadership.

Political commentator Pauline Njoroge and former Law Society of Kenya president Faith Odhiambo were also named among those who reportedly accompanied Sifuna.

The meeting comes as opposition leaders consider possible partnerships and strategies for challenging President William Ruto’s administration in 2027. Gachagua has previously emphasised the importance of consultations among opposition figures before deciding on a presidential candidate.

However, the visit alone does not confirm that the leaders have agreed to form a coalition or support a joint presidential candidate.

The engagement is expected to fuel further debate about opposition unity, regional interests and the search for a common political platform as the election approaches.
