How Wike Son Collected $2.1m From Business Partner On Land Deal, Change Story After Payment
In an interview with News Century TV, lawyer Ibrahim Waru alleged that his clients, Safwan Garba and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, gave Jordan Wike 2.1 million dollars in cash for land allocations, but he failed to provide the land or return the money
Waru clarified that September 26, 2025, was the date discussions about the land deal began, not the day the cash was paid to Jordan. He said the initial discussions took place through phone calls and WhatsApp messages, which had been submitted to the court.
Waru said the money was handed to Jordan on October 17, 2025, at a house in Gwarinpa. He added that two young men who helped carry the cash and place it in Jordanβs car boot had testified before the FCT High Court.
Waru made the clarification after Jordan reportedly claimed under cross-examination that he was outside Nigeria on September 26.
In Waru’s words: “The 17th day of October was the day that the actually money was given and it was given in presence of witnesses in a house at Gwarinpa. Two witnesses, young men, that assisted him to carry the money and put it inside his boot they all gave evidence before the court. So the 17 day of October was the day the money was given, not 26 September the day that Jordan claimed that he was not in the country”
