Akosua Ago Aboagye Resigns from “Despite Media” After 20 Years

Popular Ghanaian broadcaster Akosua AgoAboagye has officially announced her departurefrom DespiteMedia, bringing an end to a 20-year career with the media organisation.

She made the announcement in a heartfelt Facebookpost on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in whichshethanked the company, her colleagues, andher audience for standing by her throughouther years inthe industry.

The experienced journalist described her decisionto resign as a challenging one, but indicatedthatthe time had come for her to explore freshopportunities and pursue new professional ambitions.

In her message, Akosua reflected on the twodecades she spent with Despite Media, expressingappreciationfor the opportunities, support, andpositive relationships that shaped her career. Shenoted that althoughshe was leaving with mixedemotions, she remained grateful for the experience.

Akosua has made a significant contribution toGhana’s media landscape, particularly throughher workat Peace FM and Okay FM, two radiostations under the Despite Media Group.
