Tanzania moves to strengthen domestic participation in mining value chain

BAGAMOYO: TANZANIA is stepping up efforts to strengthen local manufacturing and increase domestic participation in the mining value chain following the inauguration of a wire mesh manufacturing plant operated by Geofields Tanzania Limited in Kerege, Bagamoyo, Coast Region.The plant was inaugurated on October 17, 2026, by the Minister for Minerals, Anthony Mavunde, and has an annual production capacity of 100,000 pieces of wire mesh to support mining operations in Tanzania.
