DPS shared video of a white Land Rover that took off from troopers with the Texas Anti-Gang Unit who were attempting a traffic stop along South Flores Street.

Video shows the vehicle collided with a white sedan at an intersection but continued to flee.

The pursuit ended when the Land Rover was struck by a flatbed truck at the intersection of Cesar Chavez and South Flores Street.

The incident happened at about 10 a.m. on 8/11/26. DPS said a Texas Anti-Gang Trooper attempted to stop a white BMW passenger car near the intersection of Mitchell and Flores streets. The BMW briefly pulled over, dropped off an adult female passenger, then fled northbound on Flores Street.

DPS said that while evading, the BMW sideswiped one vehicle, continued north through a red-light intersection, and contributed to a four-vehicle crash at Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Flores Street.

The occupants in the other three vehicles were evaluated at the scene by EMS, DPS said. Two adult females in a Range Rover were transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

DPS said the BMW’s driver, described as a 28-year-old man and the sole occupant, was not wearing a seat belt and was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries.

According to DPS, the 28-year-old suspect had an active parole warrant for resisting arrest, methamphetamine was found on his person, and the BMW was confirmed to be stolen.

The incident was shared by DPS Central Texas Region as part of “Caught in Central Texas Episode 52.”
