Tears Flow as Bantama Mourns Afia Pokuaa in Emotional Farewell Ceremony

A heavy atmosphere of sadness filled Bantama on Saturday, April 6, when family members, friends and well-wishers gathered for the funeral of the late Afia Pokuaa.

The ceremony brought together many mourners dressed mainly in black and red, traditional colours associated with grief and mourning in Ghana. The most emotional moment came at the burial site when pallbearers slowly lowered her carefully made wooden coffin into the ground.

Grief was clearly visible among those present. Some mourners shed tears quietly, while others supported each other as prayers, hymns and touching tributes were shared in memory of the deceased.

Afia Pokuaa was described as a kind and caring person who had built close relationships within the Bantama community. Her passing has left family members, friends and other members of the community mourning the loss of someone they deeply valued.
