According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Demetric Hagler Sr., 47, was sentenced following a crash around 2:17 a.m. on February 10 in the area of West Hillcrest Avenue.

Deputies say they attempted to make a traffic stop on Hagler's vehicle after observing it traveling in the middle of the road.

Deputies say Hagler sped up and fled at about 75 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone.

Deputies say Hagler lost control of the vehicle, nearly collided head-on with another vehicle, then rolled over and stopped on its roof in the eastbound lane.

Deputies say they attempted to take Hagler out of the vehicle to render aid, and he was brought to the hospital with reported minor injuries.

Deputies then took Hagler into custody and booked him into the Montgomery County Jail.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says Hagler pleaded guilty to Failure to Comply with the Signal of a Police Officer.

Hagler was sentenced to two years in prison on October 15.
