The CAF Appeal Board has upheld the decision to annul Edo Queens’ penalty shoot-out victory over Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B qualifying final after dismissing an appeal by the Nigerian club.

In a ruling dated October 16, the Board rejected Edo Queens’ challenge against the September 26 decision by CAF’s Organising Committee for Women’s Football to overturn their 4-1 shoot-out victory following a 2-2 draw in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on September 5.

Edo Queens had argued that they should not be held responsible for the procedural error that led to the annulment, insisting that the team had followed instructions from the appointed match officials.

However, the Appeal Board upheld the original decision, meaning both teams must resume the final from the start of extra time with the score at 2-2.

The continuation will feature two 15-minute periods of extra time, followed by a penalty shoot-out if the teams remain level. CAF is also required to appoint different match officials for the rescheduled encounter.

The Board further ruled that any procedural irregularity in the initial proceedings had been remedied by allowing both clubs to present their cases, in accordance with Article 59(1) of the CAF Disciplinary Code.

All other provisions of the original ruling remain in force, while the Board dismissed the remaining claims and requests for relief.

The winner of the rescheduled final will secure the WAFU-B zone’s place at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
