The ‘Load’ In Mining Areas Means Rock Or Stones That Contain The Raw Gold From Underground—Peter

According to a Post on Peter Tawaih official facebook account on Monday, October 19,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Peter Tawaih has stirred debate following allegations that an NDC Acting Communications Officer in Tarkwa Nsuaem, known by the nickname Cocoa, may be receiving benefits from gold-bearing material associated with mining activities.

In a Facebook post, Tawaih claimed to have received information about what he described as Cocoa’s share of a mining “load” for the week. He suggested that the alleged arrangement could be financially significant, although he did not provide evidence to support the claim.

Using a mixture of sarcasm and apparent disappointment, Tawaih remarked that Cocoa could now afford expensive clothing, questioning why he had allegedly not been given a share of the material.

The commentator explained that “load,” as used in mining communities, refers to rocks or stones containing gold-bearing material extracted from underground. He further claimed that a bag of the material could be worth at least GH¢200,000, but offered no independent evidence to establish the value or confirm that any such transaction had taken place.

Expressing his frustration, Tawaih suggested that his relationship with Cocoa should have earned him a portion of the purported benefits. He ended his remarks with the expression, “Hmmm, power sweet,” in what appeared to be a sarcastic commentary on the perceived advantages associated with political influence.

Tawaih attributed the information and accompanying photograph to disgruntled NDC members in the Tarkwa Nsuaem area. However, he did not identify the individuals involved or provide details that could independently verify their claims.

The allegations have drawn attention to questions surrounding possible political connections to mining-related benefits in Tarkwa Nsuaem, an area with significant gold-mining activity.
