It Is Not the Crowd or the Noise That Makes You the Best – Pastor Love Hammond Chides Shatta Wale

byMacbell DerrickOctober 19, 20260 Head Pastor of Action Grace Chapel, Love Hammond, has taken a swipe at dancehall star Shatta Wale, suggesting that crowd size and the noise surrounding an artiste should not be the measure of success in the music industry.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s Entertainment Lounge, hosted by veteran broadcaster Roman Fada, Pastor Love Hammond stressed that an artiste’s popularity should not automatically translate into being regarded as the best.

“It is not the crowd or the noise that makes you the best,” he stated.

His comments raise questions about how success is measured in Ghana’s competitive music industry, where audience turnout, fan engagement, social media presence and public attention often influence perceptions of an artiste’s standing.

Shatta Wale, one of Ghana’s prominent dancehall performers, is known for his energetic performances, strong fan base and outspoken public persona. However, Pastor Love Hammond’s remarks suggest that other factors, including the quality and substance of an artiste’s work, should also be considered when assessing musical excellence.

The statement is likely to generate debate among music fans, particularly supporters of Shatta Wale and those who believe that an artiste’s influence should be judged by more than popularity and crowd appeal.

His remarks add to the ongoing conversation about the meaning of success in music and whether commercial popularity, lyrical content, stage performance or artistic quality should carry the greatest weight.
