Oregon State Police troopers arrested Deputy Corbin Collins after the single-vehicle crash on a Monday evening, according to KPTV and KATU. The sheriff’s office said Collins was off duty and driving a personal vehicle at the time.
Oregon State Police, not the sheriff’s office, are handling the crash investigation.

“We take matters involving law enforcement and public safety extremely seriously,” the sheriff’s office said, adding that it is “committed to ensuring the investigation involving this incident is objective and complete.”
The office declined to comment further. Neither outlet reported whether anyone was hurt.
Collins is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
