24-Hour Economy: How can they implement it when they don’t even understand their own policy? – Bawumia quizzzes
Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has lambasted the Mahama-led administration saying the NDC’s flagship 24-hour economy policy was nothing but a campaign propaganda to deceive Ghanaians.
Speaking at an NPP National Thanksgiving Service in Sunyani, Dr. Bawumia said government has failed to implement the policy, after nearly two years in office, because they have no understanding of their own policy.
“They also promised Ghanaians they were coming with a new economy they called 24-hour economy. We have been waiting for nearly 2 years to see it but it has not happened. Clearly they did not even understand what they were talking about.”
“They themselves don’t understand it, so how can they explain it to us? It was a campaign propaganda to deceive Ghanaians. They said 1:3:3—one job for three people and the question Ghanaians are asking is where are the jobs?”, he quizzed.
Dr. Bawumia also referenced President John Mahama’s promise to complete the “Agenda 111” hospitals and many other things but all to no avail.
He, therefore, promised Ghanaians to expect better social interventions from the New Patriotic Party for which he leads as flagbearer, come 2028.
“…towards 2028, as we have started, we are going with ideas, costed ideas, practical ideas, workable ideas. We are not going to promise Ghanaians what we cannot do when elected,” he stressed.
