Milan has descended into chaos as violent protests entered a second consecutive day, with hooded demonstrators looting shops, smashing windows and setting fires across parts of the Italian city. Shocking footage from October 18 shows protesters climbing onto a van, attacking a supermarket employee with thrown objects and forcing their way inside through a broken window before making off with stolen goods. Streets around central Milan were left littered with rubbish bins and bicycles as the unrest intensified. Riot police responded by firing tear gas, while demonstrators hurled objects and tear gas canisters towards officers. The clashes unfolded near the iconic Piazza Duomo, where several hundred hooded protesters reportedly took part in the unrest.
