Meghan Markle Didn’t Wear Her Engagement Ring for Her First Major Public Appearance in the UK

She chose all British brands for the outing, and kept her jewelry minimal—no earrings, no visible necklace, and her Cartier watch and "Love" bracelet.

Notably missing from her left hand was her three-stone engagement ring. The ring, custom made by court jewelers Cleave and Company, features three diamonds: two from Princess Diana's collection, and one sourced from Botswana. After she and Harry announced their engagement, Meghan first debuted the ring in public in Nottingham in 2017. She subsequently redesigned the ring in 2019.

"It's incredible," Meghan said of the engagement ring nearly a decade ago, during her and Prince Harry's engagement interview with the BBC. "Everything about Harry's thoughtfulness and the inclusion of [Princess Diana's stones] and obviously not being able to meet his mom, it's so important to me to know that she's a part of this with us." She added, "It's incredibly special to be able to have this [ring], which sort of links where you come from and Botswana, which is important to us. It's perfect."

In recent years, however, Meghan has not consistently worn the ring. Instead, she has swapped it for a pear-shaped diamond or Zodiac rings (neither of which she wore today). She does regularly wear her Welsh gold wedding band, though, and recently, she's worn an Oura ring with a Logan Hollowell gold and diamond sleeve. Today, she wore the wedding band, Oura ring, and another gold signet ring on her right hand.
