Arsenal serious about record-breaking signing after Champions League audition

According to a report by FootballTransfers on Thursday, 15 October 2026, Arsenal remain interested in Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi following his impressive Champions League performance, with the Belgian club reportedly preparing to demand a record transfer fee for the forward.

The 22-year-old has attracted attention after scoring a hat-trick against Inter in Brugge’s 4-3 Champions League victory.

Tresoldi converted a penalty in the 30th minute before adding two more goals to complete a memorable performance against the Italian giants.

The Germany youth international has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, scoring four goals in his first two Champions League appearances. He also found the net against Aston Villa in Brugge’s opening European fixture.

Across all competitions, Tresoldi has registered nine goals in 11 appearances, continuing the form he displayed last season when he scored 23 goals.

His performances have strengthened interest from several European clubs, with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich reportedly monitoring his progress. Barcelona have also been linked with a potential move for the striker.

Arsenal previously considered Tresoldi but reportedly felt he was not yet ready to join a club of their stature. Brugge were also reluctant to sell the forward, rejecting an alleged €35 million offer from Roma during the summer transfer window.

However, the situation could change in 2027, with the Belgian club potentially willing to consider suitable offers for the striker.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, Brugge want Tresoldi to become their most expensive sale, surpassing the €40 million they received from Arsenal for Christos Tzolis during the summer.

The proposed valuation reflects the club’s desire to maximise their investment after signing Tresoldi for €7.5 million in 2025.

However, Brugge will reportedly have to share part of any profit, with former club Hannover 96 entitled to 10 per cent and the striker himself due 12 per cent.

FootballTransfers estimates Tresoldi’s current Estimated Transfer Value at €20.7 million, although his recent European performances could push his market price considerably higher.
