Two elderly people found dead inside North Karachi house

According to reports, the deceased were identified as Muhammad Yameen and his wife, Nafisa, both aged between 65 and 70. According to police, the couple had moved to Pakistan from Canada some time ago.

Police officials said no signs of robbery were found inside the house. Household items were in their places, and mobile phones were also recovered from the property.

According to police, the couple had come to sell their house and were having renovation work carried out there. Their children live abroad, while some relatives reside in Pakistan.

Rescue officials said the bodies had apparent wounds on their necks caused by a sharp-edged weapon. Police are collecting evidence and investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the killings and sought an immediate report from the Additional Inspector General of Karachi.

Expressing concern over the killing of the elderly couple who had returned from Canada, the chief minister directed police to arrest the suspects immediately and bring them to justice.

He also ordered a scientific investigation to determine the motive behind the killings. Murad Ali Shah said those who undermine peace and security in the city would not be shown any leniency.

Earlier, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar sought details of the incident from SSP Central.

The home minister directed the police to take immediate steps to establish the facts and examine all aspects of the case. He also instructed Central Police to fulfil all legal requirements during the investigation and submit a report detailing the incident and initial findings.
