Popular gospel singer trends as rumours of his death emerge on social media
The story gained significant traction on Wednesday, 14 October, 2026, when Pelumi Olajengbesi, Convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), addressed the matter directly on his own Instagram page.
The activist used his platform to raise alarm about how frequently young Nigerians were losing their lives, weaving the gospel singer's reported passing into a broader lament.
Olajengbesi was careful to make one point clear: he did not believe what had happened to Toluwanisings was part of any divine plan.
Following Olajengbesi's post, Toluwanisings' own Instagram page became a space for mourning.
Nigerians who had only just heard the news made their way to his most recent post, leaving messages for the singer whose final public act online had been one of encouragement and appreciation for a fellow artist.
