Shikhar Dhawan denies participation in World T20 Continent Cup

Former Team India’s cricketer Shikhar Dhawan shared a post on his official social media handle, saying that the organisers of the World T20 Continent Cup have used his name as a participant without his consent.

He also said that his team would take appropriate action to address the matter.

Dhawan concluded his career by playing 167 ODI matches for Team India and smashed 6793 runs. With a top score of 143 runs, he also has 39 half-centuries and 17 tons to his name in the format. The left-handed batsman has made 34 Test appearances and amassed 2315 runs. His top score in the traditional format is 190 runs, along with five half-centuries and seven tons. He also donned the Indian T20I colours on 68 occasions and garnered 1759 runs. With a top score of 92 runs, the left-handed batsman has 11 half-centuries.

After retiting from the sport, the veteran is very vocal about his thoughts on social media.

He also expressed confidence in Team India’s superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027, saying they will add value to the Indian squad and help them win the tournament.

Despite persistent questions over whether 37-year-old Virat Kohli and 39-year-old Rohit Sharma can feature in the 2027 World Cup because of their age, the duo have continued to silence critics with strong performances.

Recently, his wife Sophie Shine has delighted fans with her Navratri style.

Sharing a picture in a blue kurti and pajama combo with floral-patterned embroidery, to her nearly five-lakh followers, Ireland-born Sophie wrote: “Wishing everyone a beautiful and blessed Navratri”.

Fans expressed their admiration for her outfit, with one social media user calling it “absolutely beautiful and gorgeous,” while another said: “You look so pretty, I love the outfit.”

Shikhar and Sophie tied the knot earlier this year in February.
