Meet a 23-Year-Old Pilot Who Flew Herself to South Africa for Lunch and a Swim

A Zambian pilot has inspired social media users after flying herself and her friends to a resort in South Africa for a relaxing lunch and a swim, turning an ordinary outing into a memorable adventure.

Namwezi documented the trip in an Instagram vlog shared on Sunday, October 11, 2026, showing how she travelled by aircraft to Zabula Golf Estate in Limpopo.

The journey began in South Africa’s North West Province, where the group had stopped for breakfast before continuing to an airstrip near their destination.

After landing, they arranged transport to the resort, where they enjoyed the facilities and spent time by the swimming pool.

The video also captured moments inside the aircraft as Namwezi operated its systems during the flight. Her friend Juliet also took control of the plane for one leg of the journey.

Despite describing the weather as hot and turbulent, the group appeared to enjoy the experience, with the trip attracting attention from aviation enthusiasts and people impressed by the pilot’s lifestyle.

For Namwezi, however, the visit carried a deeper meaning beyond the lunch and swimming.

She revealed that before earning her pilot’s licence, she used to pray for an opportunity to visit Zabula Golf Estate. Being able to fly herself there was a reminder of how far she had come in pursuing her dreams.

The resort also held personal memories for the pilot. She recalled going there on an earlier date with her partner, during which she mispronounced the word “daiquiri” in front of him and a waiter.

Reflecting on the embarrassing moment, Namwezi said: “It’s only embarrassing if you’re embarrassed, and I wasn’t.”

She also highlighted the resort’s menu, live entertainment and monkeys, which she said were known for stealing drinks from unsuspecting visitors.
