SUKKUR – Commissioner Sukkur, Abid Saleem Qureshi on Tuesday chaired an important meeting regarding the beautification of Rohri and Nara Canals and the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Public Park project. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Commissioner Office, Sukkur. Chairman District Council Sukkur Syed Kumail Hyder Shah attended via video link. The meeting reviewed the proposed site for the beautification of Rohri and Nara Canals and the construction of the public park, along with administrative issues and objections raised by relevant departments. Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Abid Saleem Qureshi said that due to non-availability of NOCs from concerned departments and objections from the Agriculture Department, Planning & Development Department and other institutions, an alternative site has been selected for the park. He said it has been proposed to shift the project to about 10 acres of vacant land in front of the Women University. Minutes of the meeting are being prepared and sent to the relevant authorities for further necessary action to construct a standard public park at the proposed site, aimed at providing recreational, healthy activities and better environmental facilities to citizens. On the occasion, Chairman District Council Syed Kumail Hyder Shah said that a park and resort will be constructed by the District Council Sukkur in front of the Women University for public recreation, which will help provide recreational facilities to the citizens of Sukkur, Rohri and adjoining areas.
