Christie Brinkley showed that age is nothing but a number as she playfully posed at the photocall for her new Uptown Girl docuseries. The iconic model, 72, playfully kicked her leg into the air as she appeared at the MIPCOM Festival in Cannes. Christie showed off her ageless appearance as she posed in a chic knotted shirt and a denim pencil skirt. Teamed with matching red heels and a Ferragamo Studio Bag, Christie was in high spirits as she promoted her upcoming series. The previous day she was seen at the launch of MIPCOM – which stands for Marché International des Programmes de Communication, which translates as the International Market of Communications Programmes.

The star has been promoting her upcoming docuseries Uptown Girl, having been the inspiration for the famous 1983 Billy Joel track of the same name. Uptown Girl: The Christie Brinkley Story is set to be released by Fox Nation in 2027. Based on her 2025 memoir of the same name, the series combines private archives, home videos, photographs, personal documents, and present-day footage. ‘Everybody thinks they know Christie Brinkley, but what they really know are the images,’ said Prentiss Fraser, president of Fox Entertainment Global. ‘This series takes you beyond those to meet the woman who built an incredible career, weathered the scrutiny, and is still reinventing herself on her own terms.’

Last month, Christie hit the runway for the first time in seven years during Dennis Basso’s Spring 2027 ready-to-wear show in New York Fashion Week. In August, she revealed to the Daily Mail that she keeps fit by gardening, saying: ‘My exercise is gardening. Compost bags are heavy’. She detailed that she moves the bags ‘up and down’ the hilly garden, and is very involved, adding: ‘My diet is eating what I grow!’ Christie also opened up about aging in a recent interview. ‘I think that with age you get… freer,’ Brinkley said during her Social Life Magazine cover story in June.

‘You do what you wanna do when you wanna do it. I think that there’s a freedom that comes with age that’s quite wonderful. You don’t really care what anybody thinks about your outfit anymore. ‘Sometimes when people get older, and they overdo it, they can look waxy and — I don’t know what the word is — preserved or something. I want a little life to show on my face, you know?… ‘I’ve Botoxed my forehead two times. It did look smooth as could be but the first time it gave me a droopy eyebrow… ‘But probably just once in a year, as opposed to back in the day when I would go in several times during the year to say, ”Make sure fix this or fix that.”’ She later said: ‘I’m kind of more comfortable just letting it be.’
