‘But She Said, I Don’t Cook, I Don’t Clean’: Cardi B Trends As Video Shows Her Cleaning Grandparents’ Home In Dominican Republic (Watch)

American rapper Cardi B has gone viral after a video showing her cleaning her grandparents’ house in the Dominican Republic surfaced on social media.

The Grammy-winning artist, who turned 34 on October 11, 2026, was filmed sweeping and washing the floors at her paternal family’s home in Castañuelas, a municipality in the Dominican province of Montecristi.

The footage, reportedly recorded by her father, showed the rapper using a broom, water and soap to clean the house, leaving many fans surprised to see the global music star carrying out ordinary household chores.

The video attracted mixed reactions, with several social media users praising Cardi B for maintaining close ties with her family and embracing her Dominican heritage despite her international fame. Others jokingly noted that even wealthy celebrities are not exempt from household responsibilities when visiting relatives.

The rapper’s visit to the Dominican Republic coincided with her 34th birthday, which she celebrated surrounded by family members.

However, the family gathering came during a difficult period for the musician, as she had reportedly lost her grandfather and attended his funeral during the visit, according to Dominican broadcaster Telemundo.

Other videos circulating online showed Cardi B celebrating her birthday with relatives, who gathered around a cake to sing for her.

Born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar in New York, Cardi B has Dominican roots through her father and Trinidadian ancestry through her mother. She has frequently spoken about her Caribbean heritage and maintained connections with her family in the Dominican Republic.

The viral cleaning video has also reminded fans of Cardi B’s popular lyrics, “I don’t cook, I don’t clean,” from her 2020 hit song WAP, featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

The footage has drawn further comparisons with a similar incident in July 2025, when Cardi B’s grandmother reportedly had the rapper’s daughter, Kulture, help clean the floor during a family visit.

The latest development has continued to generate reactions online, with fans sharing humorous comments about the contrast between Cardi B’s famous lyrics and her willingness to help with household chores while spending time with her family.
