Scaramucci quips about new press secretary Zacharia’s tenure: ‘The clock is running’
Anthony Scaramucci is weighing in on Katie Zacharia’s first briefing as White House press secretary, quipping that the clock is ticking on her tenure.
“The clock is running,” Scaramucci wrote on X on Tuesday, shortly after Zacharia wrapped her inaugural briefing at the White House as press secretary.
“Thus far 1/11th of a Scaramucci,” he cracked.
Scaramucci famously served a speedy stint — just 10 days — as White House communications director in 2017 during President Trump’s first term in office.
The hedge fund founder’s remarks came after Zacharia held what Trump had described as an “introductory news conference” in the press briefing room on Tuesday after being named the new White House press secretary last week.
Zacharia stepped into the role following the departure of Karoline Leavitt, who left the administration earlier this year.
Zacharia, a conservative commentator and former Trump Media communications adviser, took questions from three members of the press during the 14-minute briefing.
