Todayโ€™s Headlines:What Will Happen If Tinubu Loses 2027 Election-Ayodele;Davidoโ€™s sister, Sharon, explains why she no longer buys expensive outfits

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned that if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu loses the 2027 presidential election, Nigeria will face widespread crises and chaos that could take a long time to resolve. In a statement through his media aide, Ayodele explained that Tinubu and his supporters already believe victory is assured, so a loss would trigger an unimaginable reaction from him.

He predicted the aftermath would be bloody, with many politicians fading into oblivion. Ayodele said there would likely be multiple attempts to stop the announcement of results, along with serious ethnic tensions across the country, and that Tinubu might struggle or delay handing over power to the winner.

Sharon Ademefun (Nee Adeleke), the sister of popular Nigerian singer Davido, has revealed that she is no longer willing to spend excessively on certain items like clothes.

While speaking on the high cost of fashion, Sharon explained that although some things are worth the cost, the price of some dresses or outfits are hard to justify.

โ€œI donโ€™t really believe in buying expensive clothes, me personally. I believe that there are some things that are worth it. When Iโ€™m hearing that a wedding guest dress is $10,000, a wedding guest dress theyโ€™re all the same price now,โ€ she said.

The House of Representatives has called for an independent investigation into the October 5, 2026 crash of a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft in Igbokoda, Ondo State, following public demands for greater accountability and improved safety standards in military aviation.

The House also urged the Federal Government to ensure the timely release of approved funds for aircraft maintenance, spare parts and other critical operational requirements, warning that funding and logistical constraints could compromise aviation safety.

The resolutions followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Donald Ojogo (APC, Ondo) during the resumed plenary on Tuesday.

The lawmakers said the proposed independent investigation should complement, and not replace, the routine inquiry announced by the Nigerian Air Force.

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday transmitted two bills seeking to overhaul Nigeriaโ€™s drug enforcement framework and expand the investigative powers of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau to the Senate for consideration.

The bills, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Bill 2026 and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau Amendment Bill 2026, were forwarded to the upper chamber in separate letters addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

The proposed legislation seeks to consolidate existing laws on drug-related offences and reposition the NSIB as an independent, multimodal safety investigation authority with jurisdiction beyond aviation accidents.
