Lawyer and entrepreneur Femi Asante has opened up about the profound changes in her life following her husband, Nana Asante Bediatuo’s, stroke, which forced her to reorganise her daily routine and adjust her priorities to support him through his recovery.
In a podcast interview with The Peswa, Femi revealed that her husband suffered the stroke shortly after she arrived in London, prompting her to return to New York to deal with the unexpected medical emergency.
The incident also disrupted family arrangements, with her younger children remaining behind for six months as she navigated the challenges associated with her husband’s illness.
Femi explained that the experience transformed nearly every aspect of her life, from her daily responsibilities to the decisions she had to make.
She attributed her ability to cope with the difficult period to her faith and what she described as God’s grace.
Despite the emotional and practical demands of the situation, she said her husband’s determination and resilience throughout his recovery had been a major source of inspiration.
She praised the progress he had made since suffering the stroke, highlighting his efforts to regain his ability to walk and speak.
According to her, his determination to overcome the challenges associated with his condition had made him a source of strength and admiration for her.
Femi also reflected on how far her husband had come since the medical emergency, expressing gratitude for his recovery and the progress he continued to make.

The statement explained that Bediatuo had remained in New York after the conclusion of the 79th United Nations General Assembly to attend to additional government business, having served as a key member of Akufo-Addo’s delegation.
According to the Presidency, he had been admitted to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition and responding positively to treatment.
The update also indicated that his recovery was progressing as expected, with hopes that he would regain his full strength.
