Police Raid The House Of ATM Bomber & Discovered Unexplained Cash In His House During Raid

A 28-year-old man has been arrested following the bombing of a Federal National Bank automated teller machine (ATM) in the central business district of Marquard, South Africa, with police investigations also linking him to a separate business robbery in Virginia.

Police launched an investigation after the ATM bombing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible. During a search of the suspect’s apartment, officers reportedly recovered R38,950 in cash and seized two mobile phones believed to be potentially useful to the investigation.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the recovered money is directly connected to the ATM bombing. However, the cash and electronic devices are expected to be examined as detectives gather evidence and investigate the suspect’s possible involvement in other criminal activities.

Further inquiries reportedly revealed that the man was also wanted in connection with a business robbery in Virginia, where a substantial amount of cash was allegedly stolen. Investigators are now working to determine whether the suspect was involved in both incidents and whether the evidence gathered will support additional charges.

The 28-year-old remains in police custody and is expected to appear before the Marquard Magistrate’s Court, where he faces a charge of possessing property suspected of being stolen.

Police have indicated that further charges could follow as the investigation progresses and additional evidence becomes available.

Authorities have not disclosed the amount allegedly stolen during the Virginia business robbery or the extent of the damage caused by the ATM bombing. It also remains unclear whether other suspects are being sought in connection with either incident.

The investigation is continuing as detectives work to establish the full circumstances of the ATM bombing, assess the possible links to the separate robbery and determine whether further criminal charges are warranted.
