ISLAMABAD: Which platform is effective for the issuance and acquisition of national identity documents, and where should citizens approach for specific facilities? The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a detailed SOP and comprehensive framework in this regard.

NADRA is the sole authorized institution responsible for issuing national identity cards and other mandatory credentials to all Pakistanis living across the country and around the globe. To facilitate citizens and reduce office congestion, the authority has introduced multiple channels, including the online Pak-ID platform, traditional district offices, overseas missions, e-Sahulat franchises, and mobile registration vans. However, not all services are available at every location, as detailed below:

1. Issuance of New Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) Where Available: NADRA Registration Centers (NRCs), Mobile Vans, Biker Service, Main Pak, and Pakistani embassies or consulates abroad.

Where Not Available: Pak-ID portal, e-Sahulat centers, and Kiosk machines cannot be used to apply for a brand new CNIC.

2. CNIC Renewal Where Available: This facility is uniformly provided across all approved and authorized platforms and centers of NADRA.

3. Modification or Amendment in CNIC Where Available: NADRA offices, Pak-ID online system, Mobile Vans, Biker Service, Main Pak, and Overseas Centers.

Where Not Available: Data correction or modification services are not operational at e-Sahulat centers and Kiosk machines.

4. Duplicate/Reprint of Lost or Stolen CNIC Where Available: The re-issuance facility for lost or damaged cards is available across all authorized NADRA centers and channels.

5. Issuance of New NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) Where Available: NADRA Centers, Pak-ID, Mobile Vans, Biker Service, Main Pak, and international offices.

Where Not Available: New NICOP issuance is not supported through e-Sahulat centers and Kiosk machines.

6. NICOP Renewal Where Available: This service can be availed through all designated NADRA offices and online channels.

7. Pakistan Origin Card (POC) Where Available: Central NADRA offices, Pak-ID, Mobile Vans, Biker Service, Main Pak, and overseas centers.

Where Not Available: POC cards cannot be obtained via e-Sahulat centers and Kiosk machines.

8. New B-Form / Child Registration Certificate (CRC) Where Available: NADRA Centers, Pak-ID, e-Sahulat centers, Mobile Vans, Biker Service, Main Pak, and international centers.

Where Not Available: This facility is not offered on Kiosk machines.

9. Family Registration Certificate (FRC) Where Available: FRC can be easily acquired from all authorized NADRA platforms except for e-Sahulat centers.

10. Cancellation Certificate Where Available: The cancellation of any certificate issued through NADRA can be processed via any authorized NADRA center nationwide.

11. Succession Certificate Important Note: Whether residing within the country or abroad, every Pakistani citizen must physically visit any designated NADRA center located in Pakistan to obtain a Succession Certificate. No other digital or alternative center provides this specific service.
