“We are preparing for Tinubu to go”- Dele Momodu says ADC is out to depose president in 2027
There is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) named Dele Momodu who has declared that the party’s strategy for the general elections in 2027 is to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s continued stay in office. He argues that Nigerians deserve leadership that is capable of improving their living conditions.
The statement was made by Momodu during an interview with SYMFONI TV, during which he was discussing the political position of the ADC in opposition to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power, in advance of the upcoming general election.
While providing an explanation of the opposition party’s strategy, the chieftain of the ADC stated that the immediate objective of the party was to replace the administration that was currently in power and to pursue policies that would improve the lives of citizens.
“Our own strategy, to be very blunt and upfront with you, is that Tinubu must go,” he stated while explaining the strategy that the ADC will adopt in the general elections that will take place in 2027.
Momodu emphasized that the party’s goals went beyond simply removing the current government from power. He insisted that any political change should result in improved living conditions for all Nigerians, regardless of their ethnic background, religious affiliation, or geographical location.
His observation was that “there must be a change so that people in Nigeria can live better lives, regardless of tribal beliefs, religions, and geography,” and he emphasized the importance of this change.
In addition, the politician voiced his disapproval of the way in which the APC administration had dealt with the challenges that the country was facing, arguing that the approach had not produced the outcomes that Nigerians had anticipated.
He urged young Nigerians to pay more attention to the economic situation of the country, the ongoing insecurity that exists in the country, and concerns regarding the development and preservation of human capital. On the other hand, Momodu believes that these issues ought to continue to be at the forefront of political discourse as the nation moves closer to another election cycle.
“The APC has failed us, and we must move away from them because allowing them to continue will see us achieve the same results,” he asserted. “We must move away from them.”
Furthermore, Momodu has expressed his confidence in Atiku Abubakar, who served as Vise President of Nigeria in the past. He believes that Abubakar’s leadership has the potential to positively contribute to the development of Nigeria.
His comments bring to light the emerging campaign message of the ADC, which comes at a time when opposition figures are positioning themselves in preparation for the elections in 2027. As outlined by Momodu, the primary focus of the party is on bringing about political change, leading to improvements in living standards, and addressing concerns regarding economic and security issues.
