ABUJA — The Arsenal Fans Club in Nigeria is set to be officially unveiled in Abuja this weekend in a high-profile two-day event aimed at strengthening the club’s national fan base and promoting community development through football.

The celebration kicks off on Friday, October 16, 2026, with the organisation’s second Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together delegates from state and city chapters across the country.

According to the programme released by the non-profit organisation, the momentum builds into Saturday, October 17, 2026, starting with aerobic sessions and a novelty football match.

Moving beyond football fandom, members will proceed to Wuse Market within the nation’s capital for a major clean-up campaign. As part of the outreach, the club will donate industrial refuse bins and other sanitary tools and materials to the market’s leadership to support a cleaner environment.

The club’s National President, Mr Charles Ojugbana, explained that the market community outreach initiative is in direct tandem with the organisation’s philanthropic objectives, which are aimed at providing support for vulnerable, less-privileged, and challenged members of society.

Ojugbana noted that the momentous initiative draws deep inspiration from the stellar achievements of Arsenal players of Nigerian descent, both past and present.

“We are drawing inspiration from the exploits of Arsenal players of Nigerian descent, past and present, such as Kanu Nwankwo, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze, to raise football fan experience to a level never attained before,” Ojugbana stated.

Saturday evening will culminate in the formal unveiling of the club at a prestigious event expected to draw eminent dignitaries from all walks of life. Attendees will include prominent business leaders, captains of industry, and well-known Nigerian celebrities who support Arsenal Football Club, such as former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, the Emir of Kano, HRH Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Senator Dino Melaye, and Arsenal legend Kanu Nwankwo.

Operating under a robust governance structure comprising a Board of Trustees, a National Executive Committee (NEC), and the General Assembly as its highest decision-making body, Arsenal Fans Club, Nigeria runs a seamless administration backed by a digital membership database.

Looking ahead, the club has already announced plans for its next major social impact project: creating massive awareness for children with Down syndrome, coinciding with World Down Syndrome Day in March 2027.
